I happened to be around the area to witness the human traffic jam at Ang Mo Kio Mrt Station on 13 May at about 7pm. It was apparently said to be due to a track fault, causing a total stoppage of train services from Ang Mo Kio to Yishun towards the direction of Jurong East.

Train after train arrived and passengers were asked to alight, resulting in a situation of extreme congestation. People were trying to get through the ticketing gates at the control station and the streets around Ang Mo Kio station were filled with people trying to get hold of alternative transportation to their destinations.

As far as I have witnessed, there seemed to be no bridge services being despatched and affected passengers were simply left stranded to find their own commuting solutions. Is this what we call ‘an improved service’?

There also seemed to be very little attention on this incident and issue by the main stream media.

Doesn’t it just make you wonder why?
