P65 – revamped or revealed?

comingout580350News came just last week that the blog once ran by 12 MPs from the post-65 generation had gone through a revamp. It was also reported that none of the bloggers from the new team on The P65 Blog is a PAP MP or is in any way affliated to the party.

For news reports on the revamp from the mainstream media, read here and here. Read also The Online Citizen’s writeup on the revamping of the blog.

Well barely a week had passed and suddenly a new blog entry written by Vikram Nair appeared on the blog, with the writer himself admitting that he is a member of the Young PAP.

Personally, I have no issue with any bloggers being a member of PAP, YPAP or are in any ways affliated to the ruling party and its associates. Neither do I have any issue if The P65 blog is still being run by Teo Ser Luck and team, or if the new team consists of anyone affliated to PAP. They have the right to run blogs, to write down their views and to engage in open discussions with anyone on the internet.

However, I do have an issue when the truth is not being laid out in the first place. In this particular case, not only was it not laid out, it was publicly stated on the mainstream media by one of the editors that none of the writers are affliated to the Young PAP.

Of course I appreciate Mr. Nair’s honesty by setting the record straight, but shouldn’t the editors have declared so in the first place instead of doing otherwise?

Was the lie deliberately intended or was it an honest mistake yet again?
