A short note on Reform Party’s first rally on 20 Jan

Although the turn-out wasn’t overwhelming, probably a few hundreds, Reform Party did well at its rally. Kenneth Jeyaretnam spoke clearly and confidently, talking about setting realistic goals and not making far-fetched promises. Frankly his speech is by far, my favourite among all the candidates who have spoken.

Also, despite the rain that had made the field so muddy (no different from yesterday’s situation), the audience were able to stand on the field comfortably, thanks to the team’s thoughtfulness of getting the contractor to lay wooden boards across almost half of the field. Wooden steps were provided too for easy access up the wee slope at the side of the field.

That was a nice gesture, really appreciated it.

None at the moment. Especially not PAP.

Workers party are too establishment orientated and I wil not vote for them. I may have voted for SDP if they ran in PE but my decision would depend on who they select as their candidate. The ruling party are too all encompassing and their links with the higher echelons in the army worry me. I will not vote for them. I would have probably voted for NSP if they ran for PE.

KJ is a good speaker no doubt about that BUT this is an election not a public speaking contest. The author of this article: did you go to the wrong place?

True. Just saying what I have observed here.

My friend was shocked when he went to see RP rally. How come got 2 pics – one of himself and the other of his father? Whho are we electing? The living or the dead? He said, THis guy is a NUT and a BOZO. Now I better undretsand why Nicole SEah and her freinds left RP to join GOh Meng Seng’s NSP. If u check old articles there’s mention about Jeya being a NUT.

JBJ is not a nut, in my opinion. People who challenge the system always tends to be labelled a nut. As for KJ, perhaps he does need to work on his people skills but in general, I was quite heartened by what I saw last night. However I do agree with you that RP should move on from the legend of JBJ.

I’m not sure why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me.

Is anyone else having this issue or is it a problem on my end?
I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
