Yong Vui Kong has been re-sentenced to life imprisonment, back dating from 14 Jume 2007, with 15 strokes of the cane.

While we are happy that Vui Kong no longer faces the death penalty, we are troubled by the 15 strokes of the cane that he will face.

it’s gonna be very expensive for the SG govt to feed/clothe this bloke until he dies at a ripe old age.

what if they do not know much do they still receive the certificate of cooperation?

we should make this the exception rather than the norm. only provision of exceptional quality information should be deemed sufficient.

the cost of upkeeping a prisoner for 40-50 years is substantial and we should not saddle our kids with it lightly.

or we should create some form of compulsory labour program where instead of death penalty, they work and the state derives the fruits of their labour.

Good that they wont hang Vui Kong but what a monstrous prison sentence plus another monstrous 15 strokes of the rattan. And what will happen to the drug baron he fingered to the CNB?
